Always Running Out Of Time

Time's like a waterfall - steady, flowing, neverending, never changing, always going on. And on. And on.

Time becomes irrelevant and you don't know how much is passing.

It never finishes. It doesn't care. If someone dies, okay, fine. Someone's born, yeah. That's life. It's going to keep going on, it's not going to stop, and who are we to ask for that?

You want to go back, to before it happened, before any of it happened. But at the same time, you don't.

It's inanimate, all-encompassing - it's just there and it always was. Back in the Stone age, Iron age, the Romans and the Egyptians and back when the dinosaurs roamed, it was there. It was always there.

Give it time, they say. It only happened a week ago - they don't know what happened, they don't. You cried and you screamed and you beat your fists against the floor, but they don't know why.

Always running out of time, time is a river, time flies when you're having fun... And it does, but it stretches when you're not and everyone knows that.

You're an idiot, you're so stupid stupid stupid and you have nothing to say any more, just defiant, obvious words to that person that earn shocked looks.

Time is never going to stop. Time is never going to stop. It sucks, doesn't it? Not even once. Not even at all. It'll just go on without us. Sure, maybe some will be remembered. But in time, they'll fade.

You were never like this, unless you're angry. But right now, you're so angry- sad- lost- why is this happening? Why does this hurt? Why? Why?

This is neverending. This is never, ever, ever going to stop. But we will. We're waiting.

You're not waiting - you never were. You're watching him, calculating, standing up to him. He acts surprised - a small arch of the brow, a tweak of the lips.

Time takes too long.

You don't know why.

Time flies too fast.

You hate not knowing.

Time is 'healing'.

You don't want to not know any longer.

Time's for those who pay attention.

But you're out of luck.

For those who disregard it.

And out of time.
